Cacti come without needles. This variety is called Astrophytum. These cacti have several subspecies, but they are similar in appearance. This cactus with several ribs is very similar to a starfish but only smaller and in the ground :). Here are a couple of subspecies: Starry (asterias) it has a yellow flower with a red circle in the center; Myriostigma are small hairy dots that are very pleasant to the touch.
